Books on Barbie dolls There are some very good books that helped me out in collecting Barbie Dolls. Here I am providing a list of such books including the said-to-be good ones. Barbie: Her Life & Times and the New Theater of Fashion by Billy Boy This a book written by a Barbie-fan for other fans and doll collectors. There are many pictures of vintage Barbies, but the most interesting part of the book is international dress designers’ collection of outfits for Barbie. Trivial things and list of facts from Mattel products are also included in the book. A Decade of Barbie Dolls and Collectibles 1981-1991 : Identification & Values by Beth Summers Though there is a need for inclusion of more pictures of Barbie’s friends, it serves the need of identifying the dolls of my existing collection with the clear illustrations of Barbie at different times. It is really a great manual for those who couldn’t keep the boxes or noting the details down on a paper. The Story of Barbie by Kitturah B. Westenhouser How couldn’t Ruth Handler’s idea of introducing a theme doll into the US market get much commends from the manufacturers? How and when Barbie took shape and the Doll’s production in Japan etc is discussed broadly. It is a good book, for all who wish to collect dolls, which explains the care to be taken for dolls and the method of identifying older doll. Barbie the First 30 Years 1959 Through 1989 : An Identification and Value Guide by Stefanie Deutsch I found this book when I attended a meeting of Barbie Club and I decided to buy it immediately. It gives a detailed account of dolls produced in a year and their variants. This gave me lot more additional info when I used to think that I know more about dolls. Forever Barbie: The Unauthorized Biography of a Real Doll by M.G. Lord As a fertility goddess, as a career woman of new age, as a companion of school girl Barbie plays variety of roles in many houses of many countries. There are many such interesting entities tell about the importance of Barbie rather than a mere doll. I spotted one of such books while I was on my way meeting one September and this one of the best books I ever read on Barbie. The Barbie Doll Boom: Identification and Values by J. Michael Augustyniak 1986 was the year in which Mattel released their first doll for collectors of older girls. The book, Barbie Doll Boom, delivers information of every U.S. Barbie and trying out multicultural dolls has begun in 1986. Along with such information close to 400 color photos of more than 800 dolls have been provided with this book. Synopsis – Amazon.com. Barbie Fashion, 1959-1967 Vol 1 by Sarah Sink Eames Barbie Doll Fashion : 1968-1974 Vol 2 by Sarah Sink Eames Through my online queries I learnt that most of collectors love to own this book.
